Gaetz Apologizes for Fundraising Email That Prompted Response from Fellow Republican Lawmaker

Rep. Matt Gaetz apologized for a fundraising email that prompted a response from Rep. Mike Lawler. Gaetz said the email was sent without approval and that he would make changes.

The fundraising email apparently took aim at "RINOs" working with left-wing House members against Rep. Jim Jordan as Speaker.

Lawler voted against Jordan for Speaker. He called out Gaetz for working with "radical Democrats" against McCarthy.

Earlier, Gaetz led a push to oust McCarthy as Speaker. McCarthy accused Gaetz of doing it for attention and fundraising.

Gaetz apologized to Lawler and anyone else who felt targeted by the "ill-conceived" email message. He said he would heed the call to not attack fellow Republicans.
