Georgia GOP Lawmakers Seek Sanctions Against Fulton County DA Over Trump Indictment

Republican Georgia state senators filed a complaint against Fulton County DA Fani Willis, asking a new oversight board to sanction her for indicting Trump.

The GOP lawmakers accuse Willis of politicizing cases to align with Democratic interests.

The complaint also alleges jail overcrowding and a case backlog resulted from Willis' "selective prosecution."

Willis declined to comment but has called the law establishing the board racist against prosecutors of color.

Punishments could include reprimand, censure, limiting duties, suspension or removal, but experts say the challenge is unlikely to succeed.
