Getty Images launches AI art generator trained only on licensed images

Getty Images built an AI image generator trained only on images they have rights to, avoiding copyright issues.

The tool is designed to reward artists more as it becomes more popular, according to Getty's CEO.

Getty sued Stability AI earlier this year over copyright concerns with Stable Diffusion.

Getty's new tool cannot generate deepfakes or third-party IP like images of the Pope and Balenciaga together.

Getty will cover any legal costs for customers if there are lawsuits over images generated by their AI tool.
