Google Renames Exclusive Pixel Camera App to Highlight Advanced Features Only Available on Pixel Phones

Google has renamed Google Camera to Pixel Camera to highlight its exclusivity to Pixel phones.

The new name emphasizes that the advanced imaging features are only available on Pixel devices.

The Play Store listing now states the app only works on Pixel phones running Android 14 and up.

Pixel 8 and 8 Pro get an even newer v9.1 of the app with more UI changes and controls.

The latest Pixel Camera app for Wear OS requires Wear OS 3+ devices connected to Pixel phones.
