Google Boosts Chrome Privacy with Real-Time Safe Browsing
- Google has added real-time browsing protection to Chrome's Standard Safe Browsing mode to better protect privacy
- New system checks sites against Google's database in real-time without revealing user's IP address or full URL
- Uses encryption and independent privacy server to hide user's identity before checking URLs
- Should block 25% more phishing attempts compared to previous Safe Browsing feature
- Enhanced Safe Browsing mode still offers more protection with AI, file scans, extension checks
