Google Activating Android Tracking Network, Users Can Opt Out

Google and Apple previously announced they would work together to address unwanted tracking from AirTags.

Google has emailed some Android users that its Find My Device network will launch in 3 days, likely April 8.

The network will help locate offline devices and Fast Pair accessories like earbuds and wallets.

Users can opt out of the tracking capabilities early through a web link in the email.

The rollout seems timed with expected iOS 17.5 release adding anti-tracking protections first discussed with Google in 2023.
