Google Wallet Upgrades Auto-Linking and Verification to Streamline Mobile Passes
-
Google Wallet is adding a new "Auto Linked Passes" feature that automatically adds related passes like tickets, offers, etc. to existing passes. Apple Wallet does not have this capability.
-
This feature allows developers to send additional passes to users who already have an existing pass in their Google Wallet. For example, a meal voucher could be automatically sent along with an existing boarding pass.
-
Google Wallet is also adding transit payment verification settings to speed up interactions on public transportation by first looking for transit cards without requiring verification.
-
Other recent Google Wallet updates include the ability to share passes from one Android phone to another.
-
Using digital passes on a smartphone is very convenient compared to paper tickets and passes, and Google's new auto-linking feature aims to make it even more seamless.
