Rs 60,104 Crore Released to States as Interest-Free Capital Loans Under Post-Covid Scheme
- Government has released Rs 60,104 crore in interest-free capital expenditure loans to states, out of Rs 80,000 crore earmarked for this fiscal year
- Loans are part of 'Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment' scheme introduced during Covid-19 outbreak
- 24 states have received funds; Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur and Punjab not eligible as they didn't meet reform conditions
- Uttar Pradesh has received highest amount at Rs 12,458 crore so far, followed by Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Rajasthan
- States need to meet conditions like housing reforms, scrapping old vehicles, urban planning reforms to avail interest-free loans
