Democrats Seek Bipartisan Path Forward as House Speaker Vote Deadlock Drags On

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries says Democrats are having "informal discussions" with House Republicans as speaker vote stalemate continues.

GOP has nominated Rep. Jim Jordan for speaker, but he likely lacks the 217 votes needed. Vote could happen Tuesday.

Jeffries says it's time to "end the Republican civil war" and find a "bipartisan path forward."

Jeffries wants rules changed so bills with bipartisan support can get floor votes without being blocked by "extremists."

Jeffries says current House rules allow a "handful of Republicans" to dictate the agenda, which "undermines the interests of the American people."
