Biden Proposes $56 Billion Domestic Spending Package for Child Care, Disaster Aid, National Security and Support for Low-Income Americans

The Biden administration proposed a $56 billion domestic spending package including disaster response, child care, national security, and aid for lower-income Americans.

It would extend pandemic child care support with $16 billion in stabilization grants to keep providers open.

The package includes $6 billion for national security like removing insecure technology infrastructure and boosting uranium enrichment capabilities.

It provides funding to extend discounted internet access through the Affordable Connectivity Program and increase heating bill assistance.

The proposal contains $220 million to prevent cuts to federal wildland firefighter pay raises recently approved by Congress.
