House Republicans Investigate Alleged DOJ Retaliation Against Impeachment Witness Who Claimed Hunter Biden Ties to Russian Oligarch
• House Republicans are investigating if the DOJ retaliated against James Galanis, an impeachment inquiry witness, after he alleged Hunter Biden and Devon Archer were complicit in the same crimes he's imprisoned for.
• Galanis claims he was denied home confinement under the CARES Act after alleging Hunter Biden and Joe Biden had a 2014 call with Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina and ex-Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov.
• During the call, Hunter allegedly referred to Baturina and Luzhkov as "our friends" and put them on speakerphone with Joe Biden to impress them.
• Galanis says after his interview alleging this, he became "a victim of a pattern of retribution by the Department of Justice."
• House Republicans sent letters requesting records on Galanis' confinement appeals and communications between the SDNY, BOP, and DOJ.
