Ford Reaches Tentative Deal with UAW, Ending Kentucky Truck Plant Strike

The UAW struck Ford's Kentucky Truck Plant on Oct 11, putting pressure on Ford during negotiations. This came after Ford's CEO plead with UAW to "stop this now".

Marathon negotiating sessions started on Tuesday and continued overnight into Wednesday morning, when a tentative deal was reached.

The UAW threatened to strike Ford's massive Rouge complex on Wednesday if a deal wasn't reached, which Ford wanted to avoid.

Even though a tentative deal was reached, the UAW is keeping pressure on GM and Stellantis by having Ford workers return before ratification.

Ford reported a Q3 profit despite the strike costing them $100M, but warned of uncertainty in restarting production.
