Art Dealer Cuts Ties With Hunter Biden, Citing Death Threats and Unwanted Politics
• Manhattan art dealer Georges Bergès declined to renew his contract with Hunter Biden after making $1.5 million selling 10 of his artworks over 2+ years. He cited death threats and unwanted political affiliation as reasons.
• Bergès identified 3 buyers - Hunter's "sugar brother" Kevin Morris who paid $875k, Democratic donor Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali who made 2 purchases after a White House visit, and Bergès' own business partner William Jacques.
• The other 7 buyers were not named. Congressional Republicans intend to compel Bergès to reveal their identities to determine if the sales were politically motivated.
• Bergès paid significant costs for Hunter's art shows and framing/shipping of pieces but said the sales volume was not high enough to justify renewing their deal.
• Hunter still frequently contacts Bergès wanting to work together again, but Bergès feels the "gamble" of representing Hunter did not "pay off" given more than half of sales were to one buyer - Morris.
