The White House is announcing $7 billion in grants for 7 regional hubs to produce clean hydrogen, to help shift away from fossil fuels.

The grants will kick-start hydrogen production in the U.S., part of the administration's climate and economic strategy.

The regions getting hub funding include Appalachia, California, the Midwest, Texas/Gulf Coast, and more.

Companies like ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Air Products are involved in the hubs and expected to invest $40B+.

The goal is to eventually connect the regional hubs into a national clean hydrogen network.
