Portland restaurant closed over neighbor's complaint about food smells

Eddie Dong was forced to close his Portland, Oregon restaurant Pho Gabo due to a neighbor's complaint about food smells.

The city suggested he purchase a $40,000 air filtration system to contain the smells.

Dong had to lay off all his staff and closed the restaurant in early February.

Dong feels it is unfair that he had to close just because of one neighbor's complaint about normal food smells.

The Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association is calling for changes to the city code about smells, saying it is subjective and unfair.
