Last Wii U in America Finally Finds a Home After 10 Years on Store Shelf

The Wii U sold poorly compared to the massively popular Wii console. Nintendo moved on to the Switch in 2017.

In September 2022, one new Wii U was sold in the U.S. - the first sale since May.

The data comes from Circana, which tracks individual store sales. This was a new, sealed Wii U.

Old, unsold consoles can get buried in backrooms of stores like Walmart. This Wii U may have sat for a decade before selling.

The author hopes the buyer enjoys Super Mario 3D World on their new Wii U.

In November 2021, three new PS Vita consoles were also purchased. It's nice these forgotten consoles are finding homes.
