Grocery Bills Still Stinging - Majority Feel Angry, Anxious or Resigned as High Inflation Persists Under Biden
- 59% of survey respondents felt "angry, anxious or resigned" while grocery shopping, with anger being most common emotion
- Prices still significantly higher than pre-pandemic - $125.51 now buys what $100 bought in Dec 2019
- Inflation rose 0.3% to 3.4% in Dec 2023, still well above Fed 2% target
- Since 2021, food prices up 33.7%, shelter 18.7%, energy 32.8% - $211 more a month than last year
- 68% unhappy with country's direction, 78% say economy in bad shape under Biden
