Linux Foundation launches open platform to advance enterprise AI adoption

New "Open Platform for Enterprise AI" (OPEA) project launched by Linux Foundation to develop open, interoperable enterprise AI systems

Goals include optimizing AI toolchains to run across hardware, building heterogeneous pipelines for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)

OPEA includes members like Intel, Red Hat, Hugging Face, Domino Data Lab, MariaDB, VMware

Plans to standardize components like frameworks, reference architectures to address current do-it-yourself challenges

Will offer benchmarking, assessments, and grading of enterprise AI deployments; Intel already contributed chatbot, document summarizer, and code generator refs
