Israeli Opposition Moves to Oust Netanyahu Over Budget Priorities Amid Gaza Conflict
• Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid filed a no-confidence motion against Netanyahu's coalition government, initiating a process that could remove him as Prime Minister
• The motion comes after the government passed a 55 billion shekel budget that the opposition argues favors "unnecessary offices and coalition funds over aid to evacuees, reservists and to strengthening the sense of security"
• Lapid's Yesh Atid Party said the "shameless" budget shows the government is busy with "quarrels and politics instead of the management of the war"
• The Labor Party also plans to file a no-confidence motion, arguing "There is no trust in a government that doesn’t do everything to bring them back" in reference to soldiers held captive by Hamas
• Netanyahu recently survived two other no-confidence votes in March 2023 related to his judicial overhaul plan
