Joby Aviation Delivers First All-Electric Air Taxi to US Air Force Ahead of Schedule

Joby Aviation delivered an electric air taxi to the US Air Force ahead of schedule, part of a $131M contract. This is the first all-electric air taxi delivered to a US customer.

The air taxi will be used for demonstration flights at Edwards Air Force Base, including cargo/passenger transport. NASA will also use it for airspace research.

This is the first eVTOL aircraft stationed at a US base. It's part of Joby's $163M potential contract with the US Air Force.

Over the past year, Air Force/Marine pilots have visited Joby's facilities and conducted test flights and mission analysis with the aircraft.

Joby is manufacturing the eVTOLs in California as it builds a new facility in Ohio. The company aims to achieve certification as a scaled aircraft manufacturer.
