John Kumah, Ghana's Deputy Finance Minister and MP for Ejisu, passed away on March 7th after a brief illness.

Kumah was expected to attend Ghana's 67th Independence Day celebration, but could not due to falling ill.

His spokesperson said they tried to arrange urgent medical care, first contacting a doctor and planning to fly Kumah to Accra for treatment.

The plan was to send Kumah to Germany for advanced medical treatment, but his condition worsened and he had to be diverted to a hospital in Suhum.

Despite efforts by his family, Kumah passed away at the Suhum Government Hospital.
