Kenyans Abroad Shatter Remittance Records Through President Ruto’s DhowCSD Platform

Kenyans abroad sent a record $412.4 million in remittances in January 2024, a 10.7% increase over December 2023
The amount surpassed the previous record high of $378.1 million sent in July 2023
The increase is attributed to more Kenyans abroad opening trading accounts via President Ruto's DhowCSD platform
In the last 12 months, remittances totaled $4.25 billion, up 5.3% compared to the previous year
The USA accounted for 54% of all remittances sent to Kenya, making it the biggest source country
