Keurig Unveils Compostable K-Rounds Pods and New Alta Brewer, But You'll Have to Wait Till 2025
-
Keurig unveiled a prototype for fully compostable, plant-based coffee pods called K-Rounds to be used in a new Keurig coffee maker called the Alta.
-
The new K-Rounds pods are made of pressed coffee grounds wrapped in a cellulose casing that is 100% compostable.
-
The K-Rounds will be more versatile than K-Cups, available in different sizes and grinds to optimize brewing for espresso, regular coffee, and iced coffee.
-
A catch is that K-Rounds will only work in the new Keurig Alta brewer, so consumers have to buy a new machine.
-
The Keurig Alta and K-Rounds likely won't launch until 2025, after beta testing starts this fall.
