Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Will Feature Late Actor Keiji Fujiwara's Final Role as Reno

Late Japanese voice actor Keiji Fujiwara will still voice the character Reno in the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth game through the use of previous voice recordings.
Fujiwara's voice will be used for Reno due to his passing away shortly before recording began for the new game. The developers wanted to honor him in this role one last time.
Reno will have a smaller role in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth compared to future games due to the reliance on existing Fujiwara recordings.
Voice actor Masahiro Kobayashi wanted to step back from the role of Barrett, leading to a recasting of the character with Mahito Funaki.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will release worldwide on February 29, 2024 on PlayStation 5 across two discs. A "twin pack" bundle with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is also planned.
