Tory Rebellion Grows Against Sunak's Rwanda Immigration Plans
- Lee Anderson and Brendan Clarke-Smith resigned as Conservative Party deputy chairs to rebel against Rishi Sunak's Rwanda immigration bill
- The rebels backed amendments aimed at toughening the legislation, saying they want it to work
- At least 60 Tory MPs rebelled, but the government is still confident the bill will pass in a vote on Wednesday
- If 30+ Tories vote against the bill, it could fail. Some MPs like Robert Jenrick and Suella Braverman may vote against if it's not improved
- The bill seeks to revive plans to send some asylum seekers to Rwanda to deter Channel crossings, but has exposed Conservative divisions
