MacKenzie Scott Donates $640 Million to 361 Nonprofits Furthering Her Philanthropic Pledge

MacKenzie Scott donated $640 million to 361 nonprofits on Tuesday as part of her pledge to give away half her wealth.

Scott co-founded Amazon and is the ex-wife of Jeff Bezos. She is currently the 41st wealthiest person in the world.

The donations ranged from $1 million to $2 million and went to nonprofits focused on arts, affordable housing, education, public health, immigration, and diversity.

The nonprofits were identified through quiet research or an open application process handled by Lever for Change.

Scott thanked the evaluation teams and called them "vital agents of change."
