Jobs Surge in March with Over 300,000 Added
- Employers added 303,000 jobs in March, exceeding forecasts and lowering unemployment rate to 3.8%
- Health care (72,300) and government (71,000) sectors saw the largest job gains
- Leisure and hospitality (49,000) was third largest contributor to job growth, mostly in bars and restaurants
- Construction (39,000) and retail trade (17,600) also saw notable hiring increases
- Job growth was flat in information and manufacturing sectors
