Zuckerberg Email Pushed Employees to Find Ways Around Snapchat Encryption, Raising Ethical Concerns

Zuckerberg sent an email directing employees to find a way to get analytics on competitor Snapchat, despite their encryption.

The email said "You should figure out how to do this," directing them to break the encryption.

Other Meta executives raised concerns that this direction was not okay.

The wording "You should figure out how to do this" is terrifying for an employee to receive from a boss.

Meta employees apparently did figure out a way, whether that was an accomplishment or scandalous.
