Microsoft Nears Finish Line of $68.7B Activision Deal Pending UK Approval

Microsoft plans to finalize its $68.7B Activision Blizzard acquisition on October 13th, pending UK approval.

The UK's Competition Authority recently gave preliminary approval after Microsoft agreed to transfer cloud gaming rights to Ubisoft.

A final UK decision expected next week, which would allow the 20-month acquisition process to conclude.

The FTC failed to block the deal in the US but is still appealing and plans to resume its administrative case against it.

If approved, Microsoft would acquire Call of Duty maker Activision Blizzard earlier than the extended October 18th deadline.
