Microsoft Launches Faster, Lighter Teams App for Windows and Mac

Microsoft has released a new, faster version of Teams for Windows and Mac that uses less memory and disk space.

The new Teams app launches and switches between chats/channels much faster than the classic version.

It has feature parity with the classic Teams, including support for apps, meetings, calling, search, etc.

Performance improvements come from using React and Edge WebView2.

The new Teams will roll out as the default over the coming months, starting with Business and Teams Essentials users.
