Microsoft to End Windows 10 Support in 2025, Will Charge for Security Updates

- Pricing for Extended Security Updates (ESU) starts at $61 per device annually, doubling each year
- ESU program also available for consumers but pricing not yet announced
- Pricing push seen as nudge for enterprises to upgrade to Windows 11
- Despite availability since 2021, Windows 11 only makes up 27% of usership currently vs 69% on Windows 10
