NFT Worlds Launches Minecraft-Inspired Hytopia After Ban on NFTs

When Minecraft banned NFTs, blockchain game NFT Worlds pivoted to build its own game called Hytopia rather than rely on a centralized platform.

Hytopia will launch in beta in April, combining elements of Minecraft and Roblox to let players create and share their own games and worlds.

Hytopia is launching its own layer-3 blockchain called Hychain to power the game, and selling NFT-based Guardian Node keys to support the network.

Previous NFT Worlds land owners will get special perks in Hytopia like lower fees and better visibility for selling their own content.

If Hytopia can prove out its model of supporting in-game item trades via blockchain, its creators hope other Web2 game devs will want to build on it.
