• New electricity tariff for 2024-25 to be set by Nepra on July 1 as per IMF directives • Tariff rebased annually; fluctuations depend on subsidies budgeted by government • Nepra to calculate new base tariff based on assumptions about sales growth, currency rates, inflation etc. • Last year base tariff raised by Rs4.96 per unit to Rs29.78 per unit to meet revenue target • Power sector circular debt currently at Rs2.55 trillion; sale to industry down 30% on higher tariffs
