New York Republicans Seek to Expel Rep. George Santos Over Lies and Criminal Charges

New York House Republicans moving to force a vote to expel Rep. George Santos. Requires two-thirds majority.

Resolution says Santos "not fit to serve" due to pending criminal charges, lies about background.

Santos posted he won't resign and entitled to due process.

New charges filed against Santos this month. Republicans waited to introduce resolution out of deference to new Speaker.

Santos came under scrutiny before sworn in for résumé fabrications. New charges helped convince some Republicans to back expulsion.
