Biden finances face scrutiny over loans and payments
-
Hunter Biden's business associate Eric Schwerin said he did not recall seeing any records of a $40K loan from Joe Biden to his brother James, despite handling the then-VP's finances.
-
James Biden confirmed getting $40K from Joe in 2017 and paying it back, but said there were no documents and he wasn't charged interest.
-
Schwerin had access to Joe Biden's bank accounts after he left office but said he stopped helping with finances in late 2017.
-
James also paid Joe $200K in "loan repayments" in 2018 after getting money wired from a hospital chain seeking Qatari investors.
-
The House committees released Schwerin's deposition transcript ahead of hearings with Hunter Biden's ex-partners as part of an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden.
