Reporters Accuse White House Press Secretary of Blacklisting and Contempt for Critical Coverage
-
New York Post reporter Steve Nelson accused WH press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre of blacklisting him and showing "contempt for a free press" by not calling on him at a briefing.
-
Nelson claimed Jean-Pierre hasn't called on him in months and that his critical reporting on the Biden administration may be why she skips over him.
-
Another reporter, Simon Ateba, also accused Jean-Pierre of discrimination for refusing to answer his questions over several months.
-
Ateba has disrupted past briefings and received a letter threatening to revoke his press pass.
-
Jean-Pierre didn't give a reason for not calling on Nelson or Ateba, but said she wanted to call on other reporters she hadn't heard from in a while.
