NYC's $15 Congestion Toll Is a US First

New York City is implementing a $15 congestion toll for drivers entering Manhattan below 60th Street during peak hours
Tolls are higher for larger vehicles and lower at night and on weekends
Goals are to reduce traffic congestion, speed up buses, cut pollution, and raise money for public transit
Exemptions for emergency vehicles, some city vehicles, buses, and vehicles carrying disabled and some low-income people
Tolls expected to go into effect in June and raise $1 billion per year for public transit
