Oath Keepers Regional Organizer Sentenced for Role in Capitol Attack
-
James Breheny, a regional Oath Keepers organizer, was sentenced to 36 months probation, the first 6 in home detention, for pleading guilty to a Capitol attack felony.
-
Breheny acknowledged entering the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 to aid the attempt to stop Congress from certifying Biden's election win.
-
Prosecutors said Breheny provided "fulsome, credible" information about other Oath Keepers members, including leader Stewart Rhodes.
-
The judge said Breheny was the first Oath Keeper to come before him in a "cooperative posture" and said he deserved credit.
-
Breheny's sentence also includes 120 hours community service and $2,000 in restitution to the Architect of the Capitol.
