AOC Denounces Israel's Planned Cutoffs to Gaza as 'Collective Punishment'

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez spoke out against Israel's plans to cut off electricity, water, and fuel to Gaza, calling it collective punishment and violation of international law.

Israel's blockade relies on Israel for food, water, medical supplies and other essentials. Gaza currently has no power after its sole power station ran out of fuel.

Hospitals in Gaza are at risk without electricity, putting patients in danger. Families are already having trouble accessing clean water.

ICRC regional director warned the blockade will have devastating consequences for Palestinians, saying hospitals risk turning into morgues.

ICRC is in touch with both Hamas and Israeli officials to facilitate a solution and reduce civilian suffering.
