Paraguayan Official Fired After Signing Deal with Representatives of Non-Existent Country
-
A Paraguayan official was fired for signing a cooperation deal with representatives of a non-existent country called the "United States of Kailasa".
-
The official, Arnaldo Chamorro, said he was fooled by the fake representatives who expressed interest in helping Paraguay with various projects.
-
The forged memorandum was signed by Chamorro and the purported leader of Kailasa, "Nithyananda Paramashivam".
-
It contained Paraguay's official letterhead and seals and supported establishing diplomatic ties and admitting Kailasa to the UN.
-
Paraguayan media reported that "Paramashivam" was actually an Indian citizen wanted for crimes in India.
