Pastor Uses AI to Generate Church Service, But Finds It Lacks 'Human Element' and Sacredness

Pastor Jay Cooper of Violet Crown City Church used AI to generate an entire church service, but says it was uncomfortable and he won't do it again.

Cooper wanted to help his congregation understand AI technology and consider if it has any sacredness.

The AI-generated sermon lacked the "human element" and was not "spirit empowered," according to Cooper.

Cooper says the service was an experiment to discern if AI has any role in church, but concluded it does not capture the sacred well.

Cooper stressed the service was a one-time event and took care to avoid disrespecting scripture and worship in utilizing AI.
