Polkadot Community Sponsors IndyCar Racer in $2 Million Decentralized Deal

Polkadot community members voted to sponsor IndyCar racer Conor Daly in a year-long, $2.1 million deal including the Indianapolis 500 and other races.

The sponsorship aligns with Polkadot's vision as a fast, adaptive "multi-chain network." Daly brings racing experience across IndyCar, NASCAR, and more.

Crypto sponsorships are growing in racing, with recent deals between McLaren and Tezos, Red Bull and Bybit, and Sauber F1 and Stake.com.

Daly called the fan-driven, decentralized sponsorship "incredible" and "reflective of the power of what a more free and open internet can look like."

As the 15th largest blockchain by market cap, Polkadot aims to connect specialized blockchains into a unified network. Its DOT token is up 3.2% this week, trading at $8.84.
