United Flights Plagued by Lavatory Issues and Other Mechanical Problems

A United Airlines flight to San Francisco was forced to turn back to Frankfurt after feces overflowed from a broken toilet into the cabin.

The Boeing 777-300ER flight returned to Frankfurt just 2 hours after takeoff when technicians couldn't fix the problem.

Passengers said waste contents spilled out into the cabin worsening the situation; they received hotel stays and were rebooked.

Separately, engine issues forced a United 777-200 flight to Paris to divert to Denver International Airport.

Also on Friday, a United 787 flight made an emergency landing in New York after wind shear injured passengers, with 7 taken to hospital.
