$1M Powerball Ticket Sold in New Jersey, Jackpot Grows to $645 Million

A Powerball ticket sold in New Jersey won $1 million in the March 16 drawing, matching 5 numbers but not the Powerball.

No one won the $623 million jackpot, which rises to an estimated $645 million for the next drawing on March 18.

Tickets sold in Michigan and South Carolina also matched 5 numbers but not the Powerball number.

To win the jackpot, players must match all 5 white balls and the red Powerball. The odds are 1 in 292 million.

Powerball is played in 45 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held 3 times a week.
