The protesters were part of a multicity "economic blockade" campaign happening in several cities.

Airport officials encouraged travelers to consider alternate transportation like the CTA Blue Line due to significant delays.

Around 925am, inbound traffic to the airport resumed but delays continued.

The governor said protesters have a right to demonstrate but should not disrupt traffic and law enforcement should keep roadways open.
