Ohanian Calls Out Former VC Firm for Omitting His Name in Reddit IPO Congratulations

Alexis Ohanian called out his former VC firm Initialized Capital for failing to congratulate him by name on Reddit's IPO day. He co-founded the firm in 2011.

Ohanian specifically tagged Initialized founders Garry Tan and Brett Gibson in a "petty" tweet, calling them out.

Ohanian left Initialized in 2020 to launch his own crypto-focused VC firm 776. He had stepped down from Reddit's board in 2020.

Reddit set its IPO price at $34 per share, opened at $47 per share on Thursday morning.

On his personal account, Garry Tan congratulated both Ohanian and Steve Huffman on Reddit's IPO success. Ohanian asked why Initialized's post failed to name him.
