Boring Company Tunneling Causes Repeat Shutdowns of Las Vegas Monorail

Workers at Elon Musk's Boring Company exposed foundations of pillars supporting the Las Vegas monorail while digging a tunnel, forcing a temporary shutdown.

The incidents caused officials to declare part of the monorail an "unsafe structure" and shut it down for repairs.

The Boring Company is trying to build an underground tunnel system in Las Vegas using autonomous electric vehicles.

In June, workers exposed the base of one monorail column, leading to a shutdown and structural assessment.

A similar incident occurred in October, exposing the base of another nearby column supporting the monorail.
