NFL's Russell Okung scored big on Bitcoin bet, 237 BTC now worth over $16 million

Russell Okung was the first NFL player to receive part of his salary in Bitcoin in 2020. He partnered with Zap to convert 50% of his $13M salary.

Assuming 50% of his salary ($6.5M) was converted to Bitcoin when BTC price was around $27K, he would have gotten roughly 237 BTC.

That 237 BTC would be worth over $16M today with Bitcoin priced at around $68K.

Okung played 11 seasons in the NFL, earning over $108M in salary and bonuses during his career.

Okung continues to be a Bitcoin advocate, offering advice to others even though the details of his current Bitcoin holdings are unknown.
