Rep. Bowman Faces Misdemeanor Charge for Pulling Capitol Fire Alarm

Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., has been charged with a misdemeanor for pulling a fire alarm in a Capitol building.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of 6 months in jail. Bowman has been ordered to appear in court on Thursday.

The alarm was set off in September as Republicans sought to kickoff a vote to keep the government open.

Capitol Police said they conducted an investigation and presented a probable cause arrest warrant.

Bowman will appear in D.C. Superior Court on Thursday for his arraignment. His office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
