Wisconsin Sees Steep Decline in Remote Workers, Mirroring National Trend
- Wisconsin saw an 11.3% statewide decrease (nearly 50,000 people) in remote workers from 2021 to 2022, according to a study by LLC.org
- Milwaukee had a 19% drop (7,600 people) and Madison had a 22% drop (8,800 people) in remote workers
- There are still over 30,000 remote workers in both Milwaukee and Madison currently
- The decrease in Wisconsin mirrors the national trend - the U.S. saw a 11.6% drop in remote workers, approximately 3.2 million fewer people
- Though most cities saw declines, some like Glendale, Arizona actually saw increases in remote work (37.5% increase)
